02Where it hurts
Where does it hurt? Follow the line.
Nerves leave the spine between the vertebrae and run out to every part of the body, like lines leaving a station. Pain in your arm, hip or head often traces back to a stop on the line. Choose a line to see the problems Dr. Scorca treats there.
Nerves from C1–C4
Head & neck line
- Headaches
- Neck pain
- Stiff neck
- Whiplash
Tight muscles and stiff joints in the upper neck are a common source of headaches, and a car accident can strain the whole neck in a split second (whiplash).
Nerves from C5–C6
Shoulders line
- Frozen shoulder
- Rotator cuff tendonitis and tears
The nerves for the shoulder leave the neck low down, so shoulder pain and neck trouble often travel together.
Nerves from C6–T1
Arms & hands line
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Tennis elbow
- Radiating arm pain
Tingling or pain running down the arm can start in the wrist, the elbow or the neck. Finding where it starts is the first job.
Nerves from T1–T12
Mid back line
- Back pain
- Spinal degeneration
- Arthritis
- Joint pain
Desk work, phones and poor posture load the middle of the back all day long. Wear and tear shows up here as stiffness and aching joints.
Nerves from L1–L5
Low back line
- Lower back pain
- Disc problems
- Sciatica
The low back carries the most weight. Poor lifting habits and repetitive motion add up here, and an irritated nerve can send pain down the leg (sciatica).
Nerves from L4–S
Hips & legs line
- Hip pain
- Pulled hamstrings
- Radiating leg pain
- Sprained ankles
- Achilles tendonitis
Hips, knees and ankles work as a chain with the pelvis and low back. Sports injuries and sprains heal better when the whole chain moves well.
If you have sudden severe pain, numbness, weakness, or trouble with your bladder or bowels, get emergency medical care first.

Three steps, from relief to wellness.
Care is built like a house: the foundation first. Every plan is tailored to you, but most follow the same climb, with fewer visits the higher you go.
Step 1
Relief care
Reduce the pain you came in with.
- How often
- 2–3 visits a week
- For about
- 4 to 12 weeks
Step 2
Corrective care
Restore full function, so it doesn’t come back.
- How often
- 4–8 visits a month
- For about
- 6 to 24 months
Step 3
Wellness care
Keep your body in good working order.
- How often
- 1–4 visits a month
- For about
- Ongoing
Visit counts are typical ranges. Yours depend on your condition, your overall health and your goals.

Fresh tips from Dr. Scorca.

Joint Stiffness
Morning stiffness results from prolonged inactivity during sleep, poor sleeping posture, and muscle tightness. Gentle movement, proper sleep positioning, and chiropractic care can help restore mobility and support active, healthy aging.

Tech Neck in the Classroom
Back-to-school screen time can lead to tech neck and postural strain in children. Discover ergonomic tips and why early chiropractic evaluation helps prevent long-term spinal damage.

Heart Health
Poor posture from desk work restricts breathing and blood flow, burdening your heart. Spinal alignment through chiropractic care restores cardiovascular efficiency.
